4 Bonus Travel Goodies under $20

A couple mornings ago, I opened up my email inbox and saw an email from Living Social.

Living Social is a site much like Groupon where you can purchase deals on items such as restaurants, clothing stores, ice cream shops, and even dentist visits. Usually I just take a glance at them, and occasionally I’ll purchase one to try out someplace new.

This time, however, I had to do a double take.

Amazon gift card. Buy for $10, have a gift card worth $20.

Yes, you read that right. This seemed pretty crazy, but I joined the other over million people and bought my share. As I promised on our Facebook and Twitter accounts, here are a few travel related items that I don’t own, but have been eyeing that you can buy with your new gift card that are all under $20! If you did not get one with the deal, never fear, you can still get all of these items through Amazon online when you’re in the mood for something travel-y. So without furthur ado…

1. Packing Cubes

Rick Steves Packing Cube Set, Black

These are so cool! They come in a set of three in multiple sizes and keep all your belongings separated in a suitcase or backpack. At last, all my clothes can be in one cube and all the odds and ends in the other. No more having to search for things buried deep in your bag. I’ve got to get myself some of these.

2. Solid Shampoo

Godiva Solid Shampoo by LUSH

Shampoo in solid form. Genius. Now I can take shampoo on flights without worrying about liquids being under 3oz or having them spill all over my bag. They also have soaps, lotions and more.

3. Passport Cover

Wild and Wolf Map Passport Holder

When I went traveling to 10 countries in 2 months, I got a lot of use out of my passport. So much use that the cover is now tattered and has some water stains. A cover is just what I needed. Here is one that I found with a nice map graphic.

4. Travel Book

In a Sunburned Country

Not going on a trip for a while? Want to read about far away lands while you’re still at home? There are so many travel books out there, and I have barely even investigated what is out there. Bill Bryson’s books come recommended by Erica, co-author of Nonstop World Travel.
